This class teaches improvisers the basic tenets of character-driven long form improv. Through exercises and two-person scenework, students will be challenged to initiate scenes from the top of their intelligence, develop characters from their life experiences, and build relationships with their scene partners. This highly engaging class will bring each student closer to trusting themselves and their instincts as well as those of their fellow classmates. Truly focused on grounded, patient, and collaborative play, this course will awaken each student’s curiosity to discover themselves and the world around them.
Storytelling is a timeless tradition that transcends cultures, generations, and backgrounds. It has the power to captivate hearts, inspire change, and create connections like nothing else can. In this class, open to storytellers of all skill levels, we will guide you on a quest to discover and refine your own unique stories, and empower you to share them confidently before an eager audience.
Each session will be a safe and nurturing space, where you can embrace vulnerability, experiment with creative expression, and receive constructive feedback from your fellow storytellers.Through engaging exercises, thought-provoking discussions, and expert guidance, you will learn to excavate the hidden gems buried within your memories, experiences, and emotions.

What do you learn in the class?
During the class you will write, develop, and perform a three-to-five-minute set. Your instructor will guide you along the way. You will learn the fundamentals of writing and performing standup comedy. We will examine various forms of jokes, writing techniques & practices, and performance basics.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This class WILL sell out, so please secure your spot ASAP. Make sure you are available for all of the classes and the show.
